The 26th Annual Poke Salat Festival, hosted by Arab's Downtown Association of Merchants and The City of Arab, will be held on Friday May 14th and Saturday May 15th. 

Amateur BBQ Cook-off
Located in the old Piggly Wiggly Shopping Center on North Main Street, amateur grill masters will show off their skills in the 1st Poke Salat Festival BBQ Cook-off sponsored by Arab’s Chamber of Commerce and BanCorpSouth and sanctioned by the Alabama Amateur Barbeque Society.  Set-up begins at 6 a.m. - Cooks meeting at 7 a.m.  Judging times will be:  • Chicken - 2 p.m.  • Sauce - 2:30 p.m.  • Ribs 3 p.m. • Awards Announcement - 4 p.m.
Pet Parade
Registration and Line-up will be at the Farmers Market Pavilion. Check in for parade participants is 9:30 a.m. Pets (and owners) will strut their stuff and show off their outfits in the walking parade which begins at 10:00 a.m. Prizes will be awarded for: • Best Dressed Pet  • Funniest Costume  • Owner/Pet Look Alike (matching costumes) • Biggest Pet • Crowd Favorite

Games and Food Vendor spaces have all been filled, however, we are still accepting vendor applications for crafters, artisans and other sales. No yard sale or flea market items are allowed.
